Verstappen on Pole for Season Finale
Max Verstappen has claimed a vital pole position heading into tomorrow's final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
The Dutchman knew that a good qualifying session would be crucial ahead of the title decider at the Yas Marina Circuit. He delivered a sensational lap time, finishing 0.201 seconds ahead of his main rival, Lando Norris, to secure the top spot.
Norris, who qualified second, knows a podium finish in the race will guarantee him his first-ever World Championship, regardless of where Verstappen finishes. His teammate, Oscar Piastri, stands a very slim chance of winning his first title despite leading for most of the season.
Meanwhile, it was yet again a disappointing performance from Lewis Hamilton, who will begin the race in 16th after another Q1 exit. It has been a season to forget for the seven-time World Champion.
