Leeds United lost for the third time in as many games as Aston Villa came from behind to win 2-1 at Elland Road.

Leeds started the better and deservedly took the lead after just 8 minutes when an Ezri Konsa clearance off the line went in off of Lukas Nmecha.

The hosts looked to carry on threatening the Villains as they forced chance after chance as the first half went on and they looked the better side.

Substitute Donyell Malen made an instant impact at the beginning of the second half as his ball across the box was flicked in superbly by Morgan Rogers to level things up.

Villa continued to press for a winner and they were rewarded when in the 75th minute Ross Barkley was fouled on the edge of the area. Rogers stepped up and delivered a stunning free kick straight into the back of the net to send the away fans into pure ecstasy.

United thought they had levelled almost instantly when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored, only for VAR to rule the goal out due to the former Everton man using his hand in the build-up.

This result adds more pressure to Leeds manager Daniel Farke, whilst Unai Emery can celebrate his sides performance and result as they look to secure a place in Europe next season.

It’s safe to say things don’t get easier for Leeds as they travel to Manchester City next Saturday whilst Aston Villa host local rivals Wolves who still sit rooted bottom of the table despite a change of manager.
