The Skye is the limit for Nicolson at Super Bantamweight
Skye Nicolson is set to fight Urvashi Singh tomorrow, August 23, 2025, in Australia. The fight will take place at the Fortitude Music Hall in Queensland. This will be Nicolson's second fight since losing her WBC featherweight title to Tiara Brown in March 2025.
Nicolson is a former WBC featherweight champion who has now moved down to the super-bantamweight division although smaller in weight, looks more powerful and dangerous than ever.
The fight against Singh is for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental super-bantamweight title. The move also offers her a chance to reinvent herself and pursue new world titles in a different division. Skye has already had a "test run" fight at a catchweight of 124 pounds, where she delivered a dominant second-round stoppage. This successful debut at a lower weight class has given her confidence as she prepares to face Urvashi Singh for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental super-bantamweight title.
Skye Nicolson's decision to move down to the superbantamweight division is a significant turning point in her career, motivated by a combination of strategic and personal factors.
After her split-decision loss to Tiara Brown, which cost her the WBC featherweight title, Nicolson looked to reinvent herself. While a rematch with Brown would have been a natural path, Brown's team has shown little interest in a second fight, prompting Nicolson to look for new challenges.

Nicolson has admitted that the move to a lower weight class is something that has been advised to her by numerous people throughout her career. She has also stated that she feels as though she has been boxing at a higher weight than she should have been all along. The featherweight limit is 126 lbs, while super-bantamweight is 122 lbs. This four-pound difference, though seemingly small, can be crucial in boxing.
Nicolson has also mentioned that she is now more disciplined in her training and diet outside of a fight camp, which has made the weight cut to super-bantamweight more manageable. She feels that her body is now at a weight it should have been at all along. In recent training pictures and videos, Nicolson looks powerful and strong, also showcasing impressive speed and footwork.
Nicolson has been placed as the favourite to win this fight. She has a professional record of 13-1 with 2 KOs, while Singh's record is 12-3 with 7 KOs.
After this fight, Nicolson will be looking to stay active and future fights can be looked at. She could look at a rematch with Tiara Brown, although it has been said Brown is pursuing other options.
Some fans have also suggested a fight with Ellie Scotney, the unified world champion at super-bantamweight, which would be a huge step and test in seeing where Skye's levels are at this new weight.
