England international second row George Martin has been announced as Saracens' latest signing.
The 24-year-old has been subject to rumours regarding his next move, and yesterday afternoon his current side, Leicester Tigers, confirmed he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The 6-foot-6 lock has made over 70 appearances for Leicester since signing his first professional deal with the club in 2019, and has also gone on to make more than 20 appearances for England.
He’ll be joining several England teammates at his new club including Maro Itoje who Martin will likely play alongside in the second row.
It remains to be seen if Leicester bring in a big name replacement for Martin and it also raises questions regarding the future of some of Saracens current players such as Hugh Tizard and Theo McFarland.
It’s round two of the Champions Cup as Leicester face serial winners Leinster this weekend at Mattioli Woods Welford Road whilst Saracens travel to South Africa to face Sharks at Hollywood Bets Kings Park.
