Matchroom and Riyadh Season Forge a Multi-Sport Global Powerhouse
It was announced today that the partnership between global sports promotion giant Matchroom Sport and Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Season have joined forces into a far-reaching, multi-sport collaboration, solidifying the Kingdom's position as a major player on the international sporting stage.
Initially prominent for staging colossal boxing events, the alliance has now formally expanded to also include two of Matchroom's other core properties: professional darts and snooker.
This latest development underscores a groundbreaking, multi-channel agreement that will see the Riyadh Season brand prominently featured across major Matchroom events, both in Saudi Arabia and worldwide.
For Matchroom Chairman Eddie Hearn, the partnership is a testament to the transformative power of investment from His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and head of Riyadh Season.
"We are delighted to enter an exciting partnership with Riyadh Season as our special relationship continues to thrive. And we're just getting started," Hearn stated, following a recent meeting that reportedly sealed deals across three different sports. "We are incredibly grateful to His Excellency Turki Alalshikh for his continued investment in Boxing – and now into Snooker and Darts. The future is bright and we are hugely excited to deliver many more unforgettable nights for sports fans all over the world together."

Boxing: The Main Event Continues
While the partnership has broadened its scope, Matchroom Boxing remains the most high-profile element. The collaboration has consistently delivered blockbuster fights to Riyadh, featuring elite talent like Anthony Joshua, Dmitry Bivol, Jai Opetaia, and Conor Benn.
Looking ahead, the partnership has already confirmed a huge night in the UK at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium for the rematch between Eubank Jr and Conor Benn on November 15th. Also announced is a stacked card for November 22 in Riyadh, known as 'The Ring IV fight card, 'Night of Champions,' which will feature pound-for-pound star Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez fighting Fernando “Puma” Martinez for the Unified Super-Bantamweight titles.
Now with this new partnership confirmed, the spectre of the biggest fight in British boxing history could prove vital and we could finally potentially see Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury.
Matchroom's Eddie Hearn has confirmed that a mega-fight between the two heavyweights is high on the agenda for discussions with Alalshikh for a potential 2026 clash, highlighting the Saudi appetite for securing the sport's biggest spectacles.
The wider influence of the partnership, alongside Riyadh Season's other ventures in boxing, is also shaking up the sport's traditional economic model. Alalshikh's recent declarations of moving away from a Pay-Per-View (PPV) model for Riyadh Season-organised fights signal a significant challenge to the long-standing industry structure, leveraging the Kingdom's vast resources to deliver major boxing events to a wider audience.

The Cue and the Dart: New Territories
Perhaps the most compelling recent news is the formal expansion into two other pillars of the Matchroom empire: the World Snooker Tour (WST) and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
Snooker's Golden Opportunity:
The invitational Riyadh Season Snooker Championship is set to return from November 19-21. The unique tournament, which features a headline-grabbing '$1 million jackpot prize for a 167 super-maximum' break (a break involving the maximum 147 plus the gold ball), has quickly cemented itself on the calendar. Top players like Ronnie O'Sullivan and defending champion Mark Allen are expected to return for the third edition of the tournament, which underscores the event's high-stakes novelty and financial pull.
Darts Takes Aim:
The world of arrows is also set for a historic moment, as the collaboration will see the introduction of the first ever PDC Saudi Arabia Darts Masters in January 2026. This tournament will be part of the PDC's global World Series of Darts roadshow, marking a significant entry for the sport into the Middle East and expanding the Matchroom-Riyadh Season footprint beyond combat sports.

A New Era for Global Sports Promotion
The extended partnership is much more than a sponsorship deal, it is a profound strategic alignment of two mega forces. For Matchroom, it secures a powerful, resource-rich partner to finance and globalise its events. For Riyadh Season, it accelerates its goal of establishing the Kingdom as a major, multi-faceted global sports hub.
As the relationship deepens, with Matchroom also holding stakes in pool, golf, and other sports, the collaboration is poised to continually redefine the business of international sports promotion, promising a future of unprecedented event scale and prize-money across boxing, snooker, and darts.
The full scope of this partnership is still unfolding, but with landmark events already confirmed, the collaboration between Matchroom Sport and Riyadh Season is not just making the news, it is potentially reshaping the global sporting landscape as we know it!
