Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has tonight delivered a bombshell interview, suggesting his time with the club could well be coming to an end.
Salah was named as a substitute for the third game running, and following Liverpool's 3-3 draw away to Leeds, he told journalists that he couldn’t believe he was sitting on the bench.
The Egyptian international said:
"I am sitting on the bench and I don’t know why, it seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. I think it is very clear someone wanted me to get all the blame."
He went on to state that his relationship with manager Arne Slot has broken down, adding:
"I used to have a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why but it seems to me that someone doesn’t want me at the club."
Salah signed a new deal at the end of last season but it now seems that he is increasingly likely to leave. He strongly suggested that the game against Brighton next weekend could be his last for the club:
"I said come to the Brighton game. I don't know if I am going to play or not but I am going to enjoy it. In my head, I'm going to enjoy that game because I don't know what is going to happen now. I will be in Anfield to say goodbye to the fans and go to the Africa Cup. I don't know what is going to happen when I am there."
Salah is due to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on December 15. With the January transfer window opening in the not-so-distant future, it remains to be seen what is next for the Egyptian star, could his legacy at Liverpool be tainted after this explosive interview?
