When Matchroom Boxing packs its bags for the French Riviera, it’s not just for another fight night; it’s a boxing rendezvous with glamour, and rubbing shoulders with royalty.

This Saturday, December 6, the sport’s elite will descend upon the iconic Salle Des Étoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo for the highly anticipated Monte-Carlo Showdown VI.

The Salle Des Étoiles, known for its retractable roof and stunning views over the Mediterranean, provides a dazzling backdrop unlike any other.

Matchroom's Eddie Hearn has often described the annual Monaco card as one of the most special dates on the boxing calendar, delivering world-class action that matches the venue’s inherent class and exclusivity.

This year’s card however is possibly the best there has been! It is stacked, headlined by a thrilling all-British main event and featuring high-stakes world title action and explosive domestic clashes.

CEO of Matchroom Frank Smith in an interview talks about this excitement about this event and how impressive the card is.

The Main Event: Masoud vs. McGrail - A Rescheduled Grudge Match

Headlining the spectacular show is the much-anticipated super bantamweight clash between Shabaz Masoud (14-0, 4 KOs) and Peter McGrail (12-1, 6 KOs) for the IBO World and vacant EBU European Super Bantamweight Titles.

This match-up has been brewing since a June date was scrapped due to injury, adding a layer of genuine needle to the encounter. Masoud, an undefeated prospect trained by Ben Davison, is looking to build on his career-best win against Liam Davies. His slick, tricky style will be tested by McGrail, the former European and Commonwealth Games medallist. McGrail is known for his sharp skills and powerful left hand, and he comes into this fight off a tough majority-decision victory over Ionut Baluta. For both men, a victory in Monaco is a clear springboard out of the domestic scene and into genuine world title contention in a stacked division.

Undefeated Champions and Olympic Pedigree

The chief support brings a vital women's world title defense featuring one of boxing’s brightest stars. Brazil’s Olympic silver medallist Beatriz Ferreira (8-0, 2 KOs) puts her IBF Women's Lightweight World Championship on the line against the formidable, also undefeated, Elif Nur Turhan (11-0, 7 KOs) of Turkey.

Ferreira, known for her relentless pressure and amateur pedigree, is establishing herself as a dominant force in the professional ranks. Turhan, often called the ‘Golden Turk’ and boasting an impressive knockout ratio, represents a major step up in competition. This matchup pits two unbeaten fighters against each other in a thrilling display of lightweight championship boxing.

Welterweight War: Walker vs. McCormack

Perhaps the most explosive domestic showdown on the card is the welterweight collision between British and Commonwealth champion Conah Walker (16-3-1, 7 KOs) and Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist Pat McCormack (8-0, 6 KOs).

This fight is a classic "pro versus amateur" styling. Walker has earned his titles the hard way, grinding through tough domestic opponents and showcasing incredible heart and improved technique. McCormack, the highly talented Olympian, is transitioning successfully into the professional game, often displaying stunning speed and accuracy. Walker has publicly stated his intention to exploit McCormack’s professional inexperience, guaranteeing fireworks as the two face off for Walker’s belts in a crucial eliminator for world rankings.

The Romford Bull's Return

Rounding out the main televised card is the return of popular heavyweight Johnny 'The Romford Bull' Fisher (15-1, 12 KOs). Fisher makes his first appearance since suffering his first professional defeat earlier this year. Under the guidance of his new trainer, Tony Sims, Fisher will be looking to get back to winning ways against Ugandan knockout artist Herbert Matovu (9-1, 8 KOs). The heavyweight bout promises all-action aggression and will test Fisher's mental resolve in a comeback fight.

The undercard also features local interest as Monaco’s own Hugo Micallef (11-0, 3 KOs) steps up to defend his undefeated record against Northern Ireland’s European Super Lightweight champion Sean McComb (20-2, 5 KOs).

With world titles, domestic feuds, and the unmistakable atmosphere of the Principality, Matchroom's Monte-Carlo Showdown VI promises to be one of the most memorable fight nights of the year.

The Matchroom Boxing Monte-Carlo Showdown VI takes place Saturday, December 6, live worldwide on DAZN
